Hogwarts Legacy continues to captivate players with its magical open world and deep narrative design. One of the standout main missions that frequently challenges players is the investigation of the Witch's Tomb alongside the goblin Lodgok. This quest requires players to solve intricate environmental riddles involving hidden moths, moving platforms, and powerful spell combinations to recover a long-lost goblin relic.
Entering the Collector Cave
The journey begins when you meet Lodgok near Hogsmeade to discuss his plans regarding Ranrok's rebellion. He will lead you to the entrance of a mysterious underground vault known as the Collector's Cave. Once inside, you must navigate the dark corridors by using the Lumos spell to attract stray moths scattered across the stone walls.
The first few rooms introduce the core mechanics of the dungeon, where moths must be guided directly to mechanical doors to unlock them. Most doors require three separate moths to activate their spinning lock mechanisms completely. Keeping your wand lit ensures the insects follow you safely without fluttering back to their original nesting spots.
Solving the Elevator Puzzle
As you descend deeper into the tomb, you will encounter a large chamber featuring a central mechanical pillar and a raised platform. To progress, you must place a moth into the spinning pillar device rather than the main exit door. Standing on the nearby platform and casting Depulso on the mechanism will raise the floor to the upper level.
While the platform is elevated, quickly retrieve a second moth from the high ledge before the mechanism lowers back down. This sequence demands precise timing and a firm understanding of your spell loadout to avoid starting the puzzle over. Managing these elements smoothly allows you to cross the chasm and secure the remaining puzzle keys.
The Final Restless Chamber
The ultimate puzzle room features a massive drop-down area surrounded by crumbling stone masonry and hidden wall cubbies. Players often get stuck here because one of the essential moths is tucked away on a high ledge behind a removable block. You must use Accio to pull down the hanging platform obstacle to clear your path toward the upper walkways.
Once all three moths are successfully positioned on the final security door, the inner sanctum of the tomb will finally open for exploration. Inside, you will discover that Ashwinders have already raided the final resting place and taken the coveted relic. After defeating the remaining dark wizards, you can report back to Lodgok to conclude this critical chapter of your wizarding adventure.
